36 weeks...9 months!

We are now 36 weeks! He's so strong, I call him the 'kung-fu fighter.' We had another sonogram this morning and saw that he was 'practicing breathing' which is a good sign! Especially since we will be induced in 2 weeks...looks like our possible birthdate will be December 1, only 12 days away...scary :) If I have time, I'll scan his latest sono pics and post those too...

28 weeks = 7 months already!!!

I can't believe it's already been 4 weeks since I last posted...the time is flying by and he'll be here before we know it! We had a WONDERFUL time back in Tulsa with the family and friends! Thank you everyone for joining us in our non-traditional baby shower and for all the great baby gifts! I'm having so much fun getting the room ready and am buying little things here and there (I should own a Michael's by now)! The baby has gotten so strong and very active, he's only gotten my ribs a couple of times, but it is very uncomfortable when he does ;) I started having Braxton-Hicks and everything is good according to the dr., so I guess my body is just getting me ready for what's to come. Here's some pics from the baby shower...

24 weeks = 6 months!!!

We are now at 24 weeks/6 months and can't believe it's the 3rd trimester already! I am feeling the baby move A LOT, his movements are getting a lot stronger and I can actually see when he kicks! We just took a trip to Phoenix to visit my grandparents & our friend,'s a pic of my buddha belly :) It was nice to hang out in the pool and 'take the weight off'. We're continuing to work on the baby's room and got our rocking chair this weekend...thank you mom & dad!

23 weeks!

Our baby is now the size of a mango and he is very active (especially at work when I'm feeding a baby)! We've been getting name suggestions and thought I'd share them...some are really funny! Crawn or Draig (from Sarah), Bolt (from Gabby), Jesser (Gabby's mom), Cornflake & Brendan (from Brenda) and there are others, can't remember, but we've had some good laughs! Here's some current pics of me...quickly growing out of my clothes and pics of the baby's room (and yes, that is a longhorn mobile...thank you Debika!).

21 weeks-over halfway there!

Your baby measures about 7.2 inches from crown to rump and weighs about 10.5 ounces. He is steadily gaining fat to keep warm. Growth rate is slowing down but organ systems, like digestion, are continuing to mature. A waxy film, called the vernix caseosa, is being produced by your baby's oil glands and covers the skin to keep it supple in the amniotic fluid. Buds for permanent teeth are beginning to form. Friends, relatives, and even strangers can probably tell you're pregnant by now. Your uterus is starting to extend above your navel. You've likely gained between 10 and 14 pounds.

It's a BOY!!!!!

We found out this morning that we are having a BOY!!!!!! Since the pregnancy was a bit of a surprise, we wanted to know what it more surprises ;) However, we're keeping the name a secret from everyone until he is born...maybe we can take bets on what it will be?!?!? He's an active one and kept kicking and moving his arms during the sonogram!

I'm in love with my new prenatal yoga class!

Per the prompting of my SIL, Connie, I will try to write more about me instead of just the boring scientific stuff (sorry, I'm a bit of a science nut!) I tried a prenatal yoga class this AM (thanks to a friend who got me in for free) and I LOVE it! I have never felt so relaxed the class is full of other preggo ladies, so I don't feel like a fattie at the gym ;) We find out tomorrow AM if we are having a Bessie or Bevo!!!! Yup, I feel like a cow about now and am only halfway through, so the baby now has cow that wrong?!?!?! Hahah!

Week 20

Congratulations, Dawn! You’re 20 Weeks Pregnant. You're at about the midpoint of your pregnancy. Your baby measures about 5.6 to 6.4 inches from crown to rump and weighs about 9 ounces. He can hear sounds by now – so talk to your baby often. Baby will even cover his ears with his hands if a loud sound is made near you, and he may even become startled and "jump." Your baby is moving often, too -- twisting, turning, wiggling, punching and kicking. Can you feel him? Your uterus is just about even with your navel and your waistline has pretty much disappeared. But don't worry, it is only temporary!

Week 19 - according to

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. The hair on her scalp is sprouting. This is a crucial time for sensory development: Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, taking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Week 19

Almost halfway through! I'm feeling the baby move A LOT, especially at work during the night! So many things to think about that we need to do...I wish there was someone I could hire to take care of it all :)
